Tallenettes Spring showcase to be held in new Performing Arts Centre
Posted on 05/01/2012The yearly Spring Showcase of the Allen High School Tallenettes is to be performed in the newly built AHS Performing Arts Center. The annual event will be held on May 18th and 19th, directed by Lisa Smentek. Over 70 dancers will perform dances which have been choreographed by professionals, traditional routines and also a number of farewell dances from seniors who are graduating in 2012. The costumes have been elaborately designed, with the stage sets providing a stunning backdrop to the dancers.
Miss Texas moves to Allen Event Center
Posted on 04/01/2012The annual Miss Texas pageant will be moving to Allen after spending half a century in Tarrant County. Between June 30 and July 7 the competition will take place at the Allen Event Center for the first time, hoping to draw up to 2000 visitors into the Texas city. The event will boost tourism for Allen, while raising the profile of the events center.

Collin County Home and Garden Show hosts celebrity speakers, home improvement vendors
Posted on 02/18/2012Friday, February 17 through Sunday, February 19 the annual Collin County Home and Garden Show will be held at the Allen Events Center. Over 150 vendors will be in attendance, featuring the latest home, gardening and DIY trends. There will be live cooking demonstrations, and home improvement seminars by celebrities such as The Wall Wizard, Brian Santos, and Donna Moss will demonstrate new home improvement techniques.
